A proportion of clinic time is reserved for patients with chronic conditions and medication reviews, so not all appointment “slots” are available for emerging problems.

Practice Nurse Appointments

Our nurses provide cover throughout the week with most of their appointments being in a morning or early afternoon so that laboratory specimens can be delivered to the laboratory the same day. They provide a wide range of services, some of which are run in conjunction with a doctor appointment.

• Anti-coagulation monitoring
• Contraceptive services
• Cervical cytology and breast examination
• Health promotion (eg. Hypertension screening, family surveillance, new patient medicals, lifestyle management)
• Wound management
• Ear syringing
• Phlebotomy
• Minor illness surgeries
• Clinics to monitor long term conditions such as Asthma, Diabetes, CHD, COPD
• Smoking advice
• Travel advice, immunisations and vaccinations
• Spirometry

Accessibility

Our premises have suitable access for people living with disabilities and parking is available. We have a loop induction system for patients with additional hearing needs.

Newbold Surgery offer the following aids to assist our patients, carers and visitors who may need help with access to the surgery:-

• Slope and handrail access to the main door.

• Low rise counter access to the right of the reception desk.
